Players have been making comments to the effect that mono-DL is incredibly strong as is unfairly unbalanced in comparison to other Domains due to it's removal spells.
I contend that this may not be true. Both MF and ELE have strong removal as well. Sure, DL has Lysis, but ELE has Sunburst, Cloudburst, Icy Encasement, etc, etc.
Each and every domain has it's strengths and weaknesses. Just like another game that all of us are most likely familiar with- Magic the Gathering.
In general in MTG, Black and Red tend to have the best removal spells. Green has almost no removal, but is explosive with fast creatures and mana accel. White has some descent control, though most if it is temporary and/or gives the opponent something in return (aka Path to Exile, Condemn, Oust). Blue is ultra-control.
These differences are what make the game fun.
We don't want to have all Domains have the same level of removal, control, acceleration, creature power, small creatures, large creatures, enchantments, etc...

Sure, sure, sure... Every domain has it's strengths and weaknesses... too bad DL is strong in EVERYTHING! and weak in... LOL... enchantment removal.

Perhaps part of the problem is that creature control is too strong in general. I get the feeling that sealed/draft games are centered around creatures and buildings, while EC games are built around spells and enchantments. The TFW mechanics shines brighter in the former. (I think it has a lot to do with predictability making things less jumpy, and geography making creature decisions more complex.)

I mostly agree with keyser. This debate has been goin on forever...Ix was nerfed and now i have alot more trouble playing dl....I get beat regular when i play DL...and im by no means a bad player. Themist's deck will pwn almost any DL deck. believe me ive experienced it many times....he just goes around tearing my buildings down with Fissure that or anything that gets in his way. meanwhile his flame ents are killing anything that happens to come for his ord stone. bouncing buildings up turn after turn while accumulating one flux each for an initial 3 flux and after that. Im fairly sure he will back me up on this that he doesnt have as much trouble with Dl anymore. Honestly i think if we played 5 games i might win 2. I agree DL is good. DL is the only thing that can beat CI. maybe thats one reason CI players feel that its strong. But then DL has problems against decks like themists. and decks that use sylvan. where CI decks absolutiely lock out almost any sylvan deck. armor 1 kills sylvan. At the moment the only domain that stands a chance against CI is DL or DL splash.

I think it would be a good idea to have a discussion about what it is for a card/combo/faction (or what have you) to be ' balanced'. Until we know that we are actually talking about the same thing, it is unclear what it is all about.

grug can make any combination of cards work to his opponents destruction. Your data is invalid, Z. =)

heh yea..i dont think it needs to be unnerfed. grug beats me all the time as well. For some reason grugs chaos splash seems to usually beat my dl mono. i was just suggesting that it doesnt uhm need to be nerfed again that i can tell. i think players need to experiment more. Look at dublone for example. his ci ele deck is ruthless. i do at times beat it. That doesnt mean it isnt ridiculously good at times also.
