After drawing my 5th Mass Confusion in a week of Borderlands play, I've had it. Seed set cards SHOULD NOT be tagged as part of the Borderlands set so that they cannot come up in Borderlands Keep Cards games for the following reasons:

1) Any seed set cards that come up in Borderlands KC will appear more frequently in all KC drafts than any other cards in the game, and thus, will be devalued by oversupply.

2) There were more Mass Confusion in the system than people wanted before Borderlands released. Thus, players are drafting mediocre Borderlands commons OVER this rare.

3) I have terrible luck with packs. Please don't allow the system to give me any more Mass Confusions. (;_;)

*) I know you can't do anything about this last* one, but I drew 2 of my 5 Mass Confusions as rares in my Domain Keep draw +1 pack. Frustrating to spend 650 gold and only receive one "real" Chaos rare (other rare was seed set unaligned). Given the nature of this card, maybe it should have been unaligned instead of Chaos. :-P

Mass Confused x5,

1000% agree. I believe this only applied to benefits, lycanthropy, and mass confusion but I may have missed one.

another related suggestion is to allow packs purchased for domain keep to be either seed or borderlands. might make the interface a bit messy, but I had the same issue with a seed unaligned rare and I know we're not alone.

10000% agreed with both.

I've thought about this too. As it is now, the old domains are in a slightly weird position. Only way to get their new cards without having to buy the old ones (which many people already have enough of) at the same time, is borderlands keep cards and buying random BL boosters from the store. But isn't BL KC a bit problematic here, because the old domains are so vastly outnumbered by the new ones there, making picking the old ones risky? Also both BL KC and BL boosters will create an oversupply of chaos and celestial before the demand for new sylvan, MF, DL and ele cards is met.

So we have a situation where there is a devaluing oversupply of seed set cards, while the borderlands cards for old domains will be something like 'mythic rares', rising to crazy prices. Chaos and Cele cards sit somewhere in the middle of that.

Getting the option to choose BL only, or 50% BL in domain would be nice for keeping the situation balanced. BL only might be too much because there are so few of them.

My latest rare in domain was OVERCLOCK...

How did that happen? That's not a chaos or celestial card...

Some of this depends on the cards though.

Overall, the value of a card is the combination of supply (rarity) and demand (game power).

Twinling may be rarer, but will never approach the market value of Trunk Hermit.
Kithl'aa Treehouse will never be worth as much as Ivory Spire or even Gossamer Palace, the current asking price is higher for the moment, but no one is paying it. Knight of Celador is also trading far below the values of seed set rares.

They're good cards, just not as good.

Not really. I've played ~3 Borderlands KC in the last week or so, and people have been playing multidomain decks effectively with the old domains (especially E and DL).

ya, what sun said. DL and E are highly viable splashes for borderlands. MF and sylvan less so because of a lack of common creatures and utility cards.

Ok cool! I gotta try some BL Keep Cards then. Too bad I suck at drafts, but that's my problem. Anyway I'm sure there are many others who would like an option to add BL-only packs in domain league, or at least some sort of weighed packs, with for example 50% chance for each card to be from borderlands. Jed, any chance this would be implemented?

And on the original topic: I hope something will be done about it. It wouldn't be so bad if mass confusion was really good and always useful. But I guess you could think of it like the inverse of getting an odd: with a small chance you don't effectively get a rare at all.
