I'm sure a lot of this has to do with the fact that my play skill level is much lower than it was a year ago when I played this game every single day....

....All of my decks with DL in them are pretty terrible now. They depended on IX for flux acceleration. It's too darn slow with the fact that Ix dims for use. Nether Plasma looses you 1 flux the first time you play it, netting a total profit of 3 flux over three total turns.

Compare this to Ord Stone, which nets you massive flux gain over the game.

It seems that the way to get a deck that accelerates flux is MF now, not DL.

DL is fine the way it is GEE let it be guys at last :!:

it still is highly competitive - alone or mixed with other domains but it still has many counters - what more do you want :?: :?: :?:

What more do I want? I want my Timmy/Nether Plasma/Ragnarok deck back! I want it to work the way it used to, where every NP corpse could spawn two more NP's after Ragnarok! I want an Altar of Ix that can be dimmed more than once a turn -and- that can be used the turn it comes into play. I want world peace. I also want to win the lottery.

I wouldnt mind playing an EC once in a while where the usual 3x domain DL doesn't show up... :P And to find some way to get my chaos deck competitive without using DL! (Which is probably very possible, but I haven't been clever enough to find it yet.)

Actually, playing an EC that's not a complete spellfest would be nice! I had a great game with Manfred the other day where we were basically just tossing lysis/possession/psy break at each other until it was GG. Fun, but it would be better for TFW if that was the exception and creature play the standard menu.

beating a dead horse. dl was nerfed and with good reason. dl is still op....of course so is ci. but yea....if anyone wants to talk about balance sylvan could use a couple buffs. paladin needs to be fixed. and course of destiny is still op...so is anti magic shell. actually almost every ci card there is needs to be nerfed. i play ci and dont mind saying so....its just logic but yea. i think the best way to balance a game is where mono color can play mono color and stand a chance. mono sylvan vs mono ci is gg for sylvan. you wont even stand a chance.dl stands a small chance. of course i just recently started running mf with chaos....its really fun. dl is like zzzzzzzzz. i loaned out several of my ci cards. and im tired of playing against altrens elemental deck for that matter. mono mf is strong...mono elemental is strong. mono dl is strong. mono ci is strong. mono chaos is strong. mono sylvan? meh not so strong. pretty much the only handicap ci has is that routes gives the opponent domain...mean while it has....creatures u cant kill without removal....removal counters....huge cheap buildings that attack....enchants that cant be disenchanted.....1 domain creatures that turn into 3 domain creatures. heh actually i u cant with ci....you should never play a strategy game again....same for dl.....sylvan requires alot of skill to play which is why noone plays it of course :P altho if i had 3 of those guys that have like 50 attack when in continuous forests...id play them with ams...i dont have 3 tho.

Monyx:

if I thought CI is such a problem, killing me every time etc etc I'd just add Loxlorn Globes, which is like ultimate GG against CI. OOOO.. I can see it .. people would start crying about Globes being OP really soon .. hmm .. when Ata was playing his best CI decks my decks stood a good chance against him. (and without Globe :P but I remember few ppl adding those in their decks and they won every single game against Ata to the extend he started playing something else saying CI is not playable.. [correct me Ata if I'm wrong])

as for sylvan - it IS strong, it's just that noone bothers playing it, because noone likes elves :P
but before the TFW black out there was several deadly sylvan decks around which could win in literally 3 rounds, 4 tops (and now Voices where is your Ord Beast).. ofc, there is a counter or two to that, but then again there is counter to anything out there atm ;)
and I have seen crazy 3 domain mono sylvan decks as well.
Naturescaping, Teleport, Goose Tamers, some of the best opening creatures - Elven Scout, Thistle, Pine Ent, Ivory Spire, Emerald Spring, Treetop (!), Bindweed, Lycanthropy: Bear .. there are tons of playable sylvan cards out there.

Uraxor thanks for your response :) but i wasnt really complaining about CI...Im just saying that if there is power balance in question.i think maybe ci or elemental are both a lil to strong.slightly..i think course of destiny needs to have some sort of counter...maybe only have so many uses like AMS...and dl really is fine as it is. Im really just tryin to entertain everyones ideas. but express my own. I think if DL got buffed...it wouldnt be in the area of ix + np cause honestly back in those days DL was unstoppable. And if it were nerfed i think itd be interested to see what the game was like without so much removal everywhere. but yea i think its just a question of...do we want to change the game? or do we want the game to stay as it is? That statement could go in Voices thread on Soul Plague too. I myself am not really led one way or the other..I just hope if we change the game it proves to be interesting.

Oh and 1 more thing to everyone. What is it that keeps us playing TFW? Is it winning? Or is it losing? Which one really makes you come back for more. Winning gets old You begin the think noonecan beat you and you get bored....But losing on the other hand....This is what makes you come back for more. Im talking mostly of pros....The only decki really hate losing against...is altrens deck lol cause man...its so nasty. Also when Cave played Ele a lil bit it was ugly :P
