Yeah Keyser, in MtG they just ban them... I had 10 skullclamps, each cost 10$, they banned it - 100$ down.

Would it be possible to offer an exchange? i.e. "because we changed all the cards, you are allowed to trade in those cards for the equivalent cards in other domains"? or perhaps "because we changed the cards, you can sell them back to us for their gold value". I'd gladly sell back most of my Sylvan cards for the pre-"balancing" value, and then go buy MF cards instead. Heck, I'd even be happy with "sorry for making your cards Sylvan and Elemental cards not worth as much, have a Domain game on us".
I'm all for a balanced game, but not for balancing changes that will cause me to lose invested money. What is my incentive to continue putting money into this game if things can change that cost me money, make my cards less desirable or wanted, or end me up with sets that lots of people don't like.

p.s. Jed, you said you knew people that just left the game because Sylvan was overpowered. I've had several people tell me they are planning to leave because they weren't "impressed" with the changes.

Keyser, I would understand the whining if sylvan now sucked. But it does not.

It's more the principal of the thing.
If I go to a store and spend money on something, I fully expect that what I bought will stay the same (or I know what sorts of changes mights happen).
For example. If I buy a puppy, I know, in advance, that it will not always be the same. It will become a larger dog.
But if I buy a deck of cards, I know they are always going to be those same cards. The text on them is not going to change. A Queen of Spades will forever be a Queen of Spades.
The Far Wilds cards did not come with a disclaimer saying "these cards may change in the future depending on the whims of the creators".
The truth of the matter is that it means that we invested money in something that is no longer what we payed for.

Don't get me wrong. I really like this game.
I'm basically frustrated by the fact that I'm on a tight budget and I can't go spending money on something on whims. I have to work towards what it is that I want and spend money on that.
If those things are going to be changing on me, it means that time that I spent trying to get a good sylvan/elemental deck is now wasted. Those cards I got or invested in or traded for, etc, aren't the ones needed anymore.
It's money down the drain, and that's why I'm worried about spending more money on the game.

kash wrote: Oh, and for an answer to MF enchants, I'm a fan of the silver stagg. Fits is pretty much any deck and is a solid creature even if you don't need his ability. I don't think those enchants need much of an answer though; I don't even run them anymore. When the perfect play situation comes up they are great, but they tend to clog your hand on a bad draw. As an additional option for training, for Elemental you can use Icy Encasement on an annoying creature (no standard Ele deck should be without 3) Does the stagg actually work like that? I mean, if you move the stagg next to opponent's Fort that has, say 7/13 health with an iron gate, does the building get destroyed at end of round? I didn't realize the moment at end of round, when destruction of 0 or less health stuff gets checked, counts as end of an action... I suppose then it works against desolation totems and claimed with bloods as well?

Yeah Stagg works like that.
Keyser: I'll try to think of something that will make up for the changes.

Jed: Think of something quick. I have a buyer lined up. But if you come up with something to make up for the changes... then I wouldn't be selling. I love the game. Just didn't like the changes is all.
