Greetings:
I am one of the newest Infinoobs to join this community of gamers. Hello and howdy from Magisteria. May you conquer your opponents by splashing gastric acid on their cerebellum, plantar warts, and pudendal nerve! Now that is truly an axis of evil action!
Also, what is realistically the actual cost to become competitive in this game? Please don't tell me about the time you won a MC against 4th graders from Alaska with a default deck. I am talking about the # of clams against decent players with average or better skillZ and a good deck. Thanx in advance for facts & opinions that will follow.

Most of the competitive decks I've seen probably cost around 500-1500 gp if you bought all the cards at current prices (I think.... )

There is a thread somewhere of reasonably competitive decks in the 300 gold range. You don't have to go crazy to build a solid deck. My current deck that has won several minor clashes doesn't have any rares in it. I'd guess you can buy it for around 800-1000 gold even with the current price spike for some of the cards since MF recently became more popular.

30 bukcs, join domain league choosing DL, Sylvan or MF, then play a keep cards or another Domain. Then you will be ready to make a respectfull deck of your own.
Of course you can go the Free way. Wich is longer but chepear.

No need to pay here at all, but then you'll need patience and bit of luck in ladder to get your first 100 gold... buying few well chosen cards with those .. and you can start rocking! This stage took me like a month or two, so.. depends just on you
