I have a feeling autodraw is messed up.

Fats #1: This was in the EC
Fact #2: My deck did not have a single Dwarven Hall in it

My first hand contained a Dwarven Hall.
I was confused, so I checked my deck. There was no Dwarven Hall in my Army screen for this deck. I cycled the Hall, and drew it again. I think it was because a Disenchant was in my hand. I cycled the Disenchant, then cycled the Hall next turn, so that on the 5th turn, I was finally able to draw my second DL Domain.

This isn't the way Autodraw should work is it?

Jed: The deck I was using is called "+++dl.dis", and here is the screenshot of the second cycle of the Dwarven Hall that should have never been in the deck.

It is my guess that the algorithm with the new autodraw works something like this:

-checks to see if the cards in your hand can be cast by the domains you have in play and the domains in your hand.
-if no, checks to see if you have bases in play
-if not, autodraws a basic building base for the cards you can't cast.

The problem with this is that the first turn, you don't have bases in play, so having DL and MF cards in hand will autodraw both a Graveyard and a Dwarven Hall, even if there are NO Halls in your deck.

This is problem with decks that don't run basic building bases for every domain (like my deck: it isn't running Halls, but uses other cards to cast the MF domain later). In order to get rid of the Hall (which I most certainly do NOT want to cast), I have to cycle ALL MF cards from my hand and then cycle the Hall. At minimum, this is 2 lost draws, which provides a SERIOUS disadvantage.

I was also under the impression that this new autodraw as only supposed to work in the Beta, not in Similar or EC matches.

Please fix!!!

The problems seem to arise when you have reserved only Astridian Diplomats for casting one of your domains. I think it wants to give you a hall instead of diplo because like you said, on start of game you dont have a base in play so the system considers diplo uncastable.

Same thing happened to my Awaken the Stones deck which has only 3 mahals and 3 diplos (works just fine with 3 masons and iron gates) for domains. Always gives me a hall I don't have in starting hand.

I think everyone agrees the new system needs some tweaking, right? I have a suggestion how to handle this new mechanics: instead of modifying the old autodraw algorithm (which is already done apparently, but I'm sure this could be undone), how about just adding a possibility to add any basic buildings to bottom of deck at any point during game? The interface should have room for a new button somewhere..

It needs tweaking soon.... I just lost an EC, partially (if not entirely) due to the new bug.

Thank you sir. I had posted a very similar detail within the last 24 hours in the Borderlands section of the forum. Anywho, hopefully this is the end of craziness of this nature. Now if we could just get politicians to auto-draw the proper domains... Don't hold your breaths though. ;)

Gratefully,

DarkJello
